The buzz from Hot Market Finds

I set out on a serious quest several years ago to find the world's most realistic imitation floral stem. Short of getting on a plane and heading overseas to the manufacturers, this item became the number one focus on my 'find' list when hitting the trade shows.

A couple of years back I stumbled upon Flora Seda with a small booth in the temporary section of Atlanta's AmericasMart. On the table was a lily floating in water which I assumed was real... until I was shown how the imitation lily comes on a 26" stem for bouquet display, but can also double as a realistic floating flower for an alternate tabletop display. By simply reattaching the floral head to the stem you're back to the original look.

After touching these realistic florals and learning the process includes the use of latex in their patented formula, I was sold! The results are incredibly realistic botanicals that fool most, even to the touch. The line, marketed under the name Floramatique, has had great success in the past 5+ years since being introduced to North America. The small calla lilies are a hot item for bridal bouquets, and the tulips are so realistic that my clients do a double-take when they realize they are imitation.

The Canadian-based company ships from New York, so duties are no problem. Flora Seda runs holiday sales throughout the year where you can save 15% to 20%. Be sure to get on their mailing list so you can receive the market show discount invite of 20%. A great find, and a product line I keep in constant stock.
